On behalf of the starring man and lady, I’d like to thank you all for being here. Before we send off these two, I’d like to say a few words.

I’ve known Marcus for almost as long as I’ve been alive, and for almost as long as I’ve been alive we’ve been the closest of friends. Over the years, through the promising days and the frustrating ones, I’ve seen his unparalleled intellect and calmness and decisiveness in the face of challenges; his impressive Biblical knowledge and his steady love of the LORD. Whether as a son, brother, volunteer, employee, or boyfriend, Marcus has not failed to bring with him all his abilities and talents to be the best of each of these.

And while I don’t know Maggie quite as well, I do know that it is a blessing for Marcus to be marrying such a Godly and church-rooted woman as her.

This is an important day, but counter to what our culture may have had you believe, this is not the happiest day of their lives; not by a mile. Today is merely day zero. Tomorrow, and each day after for decades, LORD willing, Marcus and Maggie will know each-other and love each-other more than they thought possible. Their love will be beyond their on capacities, because it is not of them, it is of the LORD. They will grow and flourish in oneness with each-other and oneness with God. And one day, when body hath faded away, each will join the LORD to be in His house, and for every day, evermore, they will know each-other and love each-other with pure enjoyment, affection, compassion, and steadfastness that comes directly from the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and it will be truly glorious.

Congratulations Marcus & Maggie Richmond, you’ve made it!
